Srinivasan College of Nursing Established in 2011, under the esteemed Srinivasan Charitable and Educational Trust. The college offers an annual intake of 100 students and is committed to delivering high-quality nursing education aligned with contemporary healthcare needs. Institution is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and recognized by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (TNNMC). It is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, ensuring that the curriculum and training adhere to national academic and professional standards.

Philosophy

B.Sc (N) aims to shape nurses who are not only clinically skilled, but ethically grounded, compassionate, socially responsible, and ready to adapt to evolving health needs.

Holistic view of health and human care - seeing health not just as absence of disease but as overall well-being (physical, psychological, social), and treating individuals, families, communities accordingly.

Nursing as a science and an art - combining theoretical/scientific knowledge with compassionate care, ethical values, and empathy — balancing technical competence with humanistic care.

Education that integrates theory & practice - curriculum based on sound educational and scientific principles; emphasis on practical clinical training, as well as theory, to prepare competent professional nurses.

Aims

Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional competent Nurse and Midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

Prepare nurses who can make independent decision in nursing situations, protect the rights and facilitate individuals and groups in purist of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical and public health setting.

Objectives

       B.Sc., Nursing Programme is designed to prepare the students to.
       Perform as a competent professional beginning practitioner of nursing in a variety of health care settings.
       Function effectively as member of interdisciplinary health care setting.
       Function effectively as a member of Interdisciplinary health team and as a leader of nursing team.
       Exhibit a scientific attitude of independent Interdependent inquiry into nursing problems.
       Continue personal and professional growth through on going education and self evaluation.
       Participate as a effective citizen on Local, state and national levels.
       Be eligible for licensure and for entrance into graduate of nursing education.
